Add Calves is currently turned off in MiHub unless it is required by individual customers. If you would like to add your calves now please contact 0508MilkHub so we can turn the function on for you and give you some phone training.

You can choose to add calves you plan to keep as soon as they are born.
There are a couple of advantages in doing this even though it is a very busy time:

• Your heifer records and tags will be up to date and ready to go when you bring the young animals into the herd
• Once the Birth IDs are assigned you can create a group from which you can easily manage on and off farm movements to comply with NAIT.

N.B. Newborns must be tagged within 180 days of birth, or before their first off-farm movement. Nait.co.nz - Tagging Requirements

Adding new calves

To add new calves you will need:

• Your Participant Code or AHB Number, and Calf Number for each animal. (This information is included in any NAIT compliant Birth ID tags.)
• Your Birth ID tags loaded into the Tag Cupboard (See Uploading Tag Files)
• You will also need the Date of Birth for the Dam already loaded into the system.

1. Go to Enter Data > Calving
2. Select the Calving Date
3. Either Type a Cow Number or select a cow from the list
4. Select the Calf Fate
5. If the calf was Reared, Enter the Birth ID This will auto increment after the first calf
6. Choose the Sex
7. Click Queue Event

This will add the calving to the list. The calving has not been recorded at this stage.

8. Repeat the process for each calving and when you are finished press the Save All button to confirm and record all calvings.
