For various reasons you may have cows with missing or incorrect VID tags and you want to find them so you can re-tag or update your records with the correct VID tag number belonging to that cow. This tutorial shows how to set up an in-shed alert for cows with missing VIDs so you can check them in-shed to see what their VID is, or even replace a missing VID tag if needed
Please note that if you have duplicate VIDs, miHub will not permit both to display in the shed at once. The newest cow which has a duplicate VID tag will be the one that has her milking information displayed. All milking information for all duplicate tagged cows will be stored but not seen until the duplicate is resolved. Go to the link at the bottom of the page to learn how to update duplicate VID tags.
Find untagged cows
1. Go to Herd Management -> Scratchpad.
2. Click the Which Cows? dropdown, scroll down and select UnNumbered Cows. All the cows without VIDs will display in the list.
3. Click the selection box to the left of Actions to select all.
4. Click Actions -> In-shed Action and set up an alert or draft to identify the cows in-shed. You can check the VIDs during milking, or draft and bring back to the platform after milking.
5. Finally, update the missing VIDs in-shed using the keypad, or write the details down and update the VIDs using miHub.
