Why use Herd-Man for mating?
During mating good reporting enables you to track your progress. Herd-Man has many reports to keep you on top of your breeding targets. The broadcast display can be setup to show insemination dates, enabling you to keep an eye on your heat detection. Note: Mating information is not currently sent to the National Dairy Database unless you are a CRV Portal Customer.

Options for recording inseminations

Option 1: Using a Bull Team
Use this option if you want to record which cow was inseminated to which bull. Suitable if you do your own inseminations, if you don't record into the National Database or are happy to record your inseminations and sires in both Herd-Man and your breeding company system.

Step 1: Adding your Bull Team
Step 2: Recording Inseminations into Herd-Man OR Recording your inseminations in shed

Option 2: Inseminations only (no bull)
Use this option to record which cow was inseminated and on which day. Suitable if you only want to know the dates cows were inseminated, and are happy for your breeding company to take care of sire records.
