The Tag Cupboard is where you will find a list of NAIT compliant RFID tags and Visual ID tags that have not currently been assigned to a cow.
There are three types of tags which can exist in your Tag Cupboard:
• Birth Tags (An electronic tag linked to a Birth-Id)
• Traka Tags (An electronic tag not linked to any other Id)
• Visual Tags (An electronic tag linked to a Visual-Id)
When newly tagged cows (e.g. calves and heifers) first enter the shed their tag number is read by the RFID reader and automatically activated from the Tag Cupboard. The tag is then transferred out of the Tag Cupboard into Herd Management and the cow has joined the herd.
