Types of Tag (NAIT Definitions)

NAIT Tag Definitions

Birth Tag
• Designed to be used on new born (never been tagged) cows
• Printed on the tag: EID, AHB Number or Participant Code, Visual ID, (optional) Year of Birth
• Sold as EID tag only or EID with accompanying Visual Tag

Traka Tag
• Designed for cows with existing Visual Tag but no EID (cows that were not EID tagged pre-NAIT)
• Printed on the tag: EID, AHB Number or Participant Code
• Sold as EID tag only

NOTE: This differs from the previous definition of Traka Tag which is now a Management Tag

Management Tag
• Designed for cows with existing Visual Tag but no EID (cows that were not EID tagged pre-NAIT)
• Printed on the tag: EID, Participant Code, Visual ID
• Sold as EID tag only

NOTE: This option is for LIC or CRV customers only. The Animal Health Board does not support Management Tags
